São Paulo, November 2020 – Eurofarma is once again among the top companies in Brazil for Exame magazine’s Melhores e Maiores (Biggest and Best) ranking. In this edition, the company occupied a prominent position and received bonuses in the classification due to its presence in other guides, such as the Exame Sustainability Guide, in which it is the only four-time pharmaceutical champion.

This year’s edition featured the companies that stood out the most in 20 sectors of the economy. Eurofarma took second place in the Pharmaceutical Industry sector, climbing from 8th place in the previous year. It placed 223rd among the top 1,000 by net revenue, advancing 21 positions. Among the 200 largest private groups, it is in the 121st position (up 17 positions).

Methodology
The ranking assesses 3,000 companies, in addition to the largest private groups in the country, through the financial statements published in the Official State Ledgers until 06/30/2020. It also includes the limited companies that submitted their results for analysis. Companies of significant size and well known in the market, which do not disclose their results, were also considered but had their revenues estimated by analysts.

The criteria used by the ranking to draw up the list of the 500 largest companies and a complementary list with another 500, totaling 1,000, is that of net sales.

Conducted in partnership with the Foundation Institute for Accounting, Actuarial and Financial Research (FIPECAFI), the study is based on the financial indicators and balance sheets of the previous year. This is considered one of the most prestigious rankings on the evolution of the country’s business and recognizes the success of companies that drive the Brazilian economy.
